Five Services Our Dermatologist in California Offer

dermatologist checking woman's skin

If you think your California dermatologist does nothing other than check your skin for moles, then think again. Our dermatologist at Plateroti Dermatology can do everything from skin cancer treatments to aesthetic skin care treatments. Check out these five popular services that we provide for our clients.

Annual Examinations

Of course, this is one of the most important services that we provide because it can actually save your life. While this may seem like a boring treatment, an annual examination can help us detect skin diseases and lesions that could worsen over time and cause cancer. By catching problematic areas early through once-yearly checkups, we can catch cancerous moles before they become difficult to treat and before they spread throughout the body. Plus, we can help you find treatments for other concerns, such as eczema and rosacea, at your annual examination.

Mohs Surgeries

Mohs surgery is used for removing many types of skin cancer, including basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas and a variety of melanomas. This type of surgery is preferred over more traditional skin cancer surgeries because it gives our surgeon a way to ensure that all of the cancerous cells have been removed. It is a great option for aggressive skin cancers, especially those located on the face or those with poorly defined borders.

Injectables

Injectables are some of the most popular options for treating a variety of the signs of aging on the skin. While we offer a variety of options, Botox is a favorite for many patients who have fine lines and wrinkles on the skin caused by facial expressions. For patients who have more deeply set lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers, such as Volbella or Vollure, may be appropriate.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is another option we offer to our patients who are unhappy with a variety of signs of aging on their skin, such as lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and age spots. We have both the Cortex YAH Erbium and the CO2 lasers for all types of resurfacing. The Erbium provides light resurfacing, perfect for fine lines and wrinkles, while the CO2 fractional laser gives deeper results.

Hair Restoration

We use NeoGraft or PRP for hair restoration for patients who have seen their hair falling out or thinning. PRP stimulates your scalp to produce new hair while NeoGraft grafts your own hair follicles into thinning areas on your scalp.

This is just a glimpse at some of the many services we provide our dermatology patients at Plateroti Dermatology in California. We know that it can be hard to know exactly what treatment is best for you. That is why we suggest setting up an appointment with one of our practitioners so that we can look at your skin, discuss your skin goals with you and decide together what would be best for you. Call us today so that we can set up your first consultation or get you started with a new treatment to help you live a healthier and happier life.
