Thinning Hair? PRP Therapy and NeoGraft Hair Restoration Can Help

Even though hair loss is common, affecting an estimated 80 million men and women, it can still take a toll on your confidence. Here at Plateroti Dermatology in Templeton, California, we specialize in hair restoration using two tried-and-true methods: platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and NeoGraft® hair restoration.

In this post, Dr. Carmelo Plateroti shares more about the efficacy of PRP therapy and NeoGraft hair restoration and how they can benefit you.

What is PRP?

Essentially, PRP is a special serum that we create using your own blood. We withdraw a portion of your blood and spins it in it centrifuge, which forces the plasma to separate from the red blood cells. Some of the plasma is rich in platelets, the cells that are responsible for clotting.

We place that platelet-laden plasma into a syringe and inject it into your scalp in areas where your hair is thinning or receding.

How does it help thinning hair?

Because PRP has a potent combination of proteins and growth factors, it speeds healing in joints and damaged cells in your body. Since hair loss is often due to damage to the hair follicles, PRP goes to work restoring the follicles and spurring hair regrowth.

Does it hurt?

We use a local anesthetic on your scalp to minimize discomfort and help you relax. The treatment is quick, too. You’re in and out of the office in about 20-30 minutes. You may have some tenderness or mild pain at the injection site, but these minor problems resolve quickly on
their own.

Does it really work?

Yes! It’s a medical marvel. Hundreds of studies, research reports, and patient trials show that PRP works extremely well to reduce overall hair loss, as well as boost hair regrowth. What’s more, patient satisfaction for PRP is extremely high.

What is NeoGraft hair restoration?

Like PRP, NeoGraft hair restoration is a minimally invasive way to regrow your hair. We use a precision technology called Follicular Unit Extraction to relocate follicles from the areas where your hair grows well to the parts of your scalp where it’s getting thin. Within a few months, 10-80% of your newly transplanted hair regrows.

What are the benefits of NeoGraft hair restoration?

Our team is proud to offer NeoGraft hair restoration because it comes with so many benefits.

This hair restoration treatment:
● Causes no obvious scarring
● Offers a shorter recovery time compared to other transplant procedures
● Produces a natural hairline
● Results in fuller, thicker hair

Am I a candidate for PRP & NeoGraft?

We meet with you to conduct a physical exam of your scalp and talk with you about your health history and lifestyle to determine if you’re a candidate. In addition, these treatments are far more effective if your hair loss is a relatively new condition. The treatments revive dormant hair follicles and works best if you aren’t trying to overcome widespread balding, but there is still hope irregardless.

If you want to grow your hair back with one of these natural and effective treatments, call our office 805-434-2821 to book a consultation or request an appointment online.
