What is sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a unique procedure that has been used for over 70 years to correct the appearance of spider veins in the legs. This proven treatment involves the administration of a salt solution into the vein through a very fine needle. The solution works to irritate the spider veins, causing them to break down and the blood within them to clot. In time, the body gradually processes these blood vessels, turning them into scar tissue and fading them from being seen through the surface of the skin. As many as 80% of the targeted spider webs can be expect to fade with a single sclerotherapy session!

What can I expect from the sclerotherapy process?

At the start of your sclerotherapy treatment session, a member of our team will cleanse the designated treatment area. The salt-based solution will then be administered into the spider veins beneath the skin. The duration of your treatment will depend on the extent of the spider veins you are experiencing. Typically, this treatment is fast, taking roughly between 15-30 minutes. To learn more about the sclerotherapy treatment process, consult with our team!

Who is a candidate for sclerotherapy?

You may be a good candidate to treat spider veins with sclerotherapy if you:

  • Are bothered by the appearance of spider veins through your skin
  • Are not pregnant
  • Have not had issues with blood clotting

Our team can help you determine if sclerotherapy is an optimal treatment for you during your consultation appointment.
