For a laser treatment that targets aging and damaged skin at the source without extensive downtime, CO2 laser resurfacing at Plateroti Dermatology may be the ideal solution for you. This fractionated laser therapy treats sections of the skin at a time, creating dynamic results with minimal disruption to your normal activities.

Serving Templeton and surrounding areas in California, Plateroti Dermatology is led by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Carmelo Plateroti . Contact us today to schedule a consultation and find out how CO2 laser resurfacing can improve your skin inside and out using proven technology.

This advanced laser therapy utilizes fractional resurfacing, a method that targets one section of treatment areas at a time rather than removing the entire skin surface. At Plateroti Dermatology, we use the Cortex™ YAG Erbium and CO2 lasers for either superficial or deeper resurfacing, depending on your individual condition.

Only the Cortex™ utilizes the two resurfacing wavelengths in one system, and treatments can be customized for targeted, patient-specific treatments. Featuring a flexible delivery of energy, a versatile scanner, and surgical capability, this system offers multiple treatment options.

Erbium YAG superficial resurfacing performs:

- The correction of fine lines and wrinkles

- Superficial skin resurfacing

- Micro-laser peels

CO2 fractional deeper resurfacing is also possible and can correct:

- Moderate lines and wrinkles

- Benign pigmented lesions and dyschromia

- Acne scars

- Skin texture flaws

- Deep skin resurfacing

Although primarily used on the face, CO2 laser resurfacing can also be used to improve the appearance of the neck and chest. These treatment options can be discussed with Dr. Plateroti and our medical team during your consultation.

While conventional laser resurfacing methods remove the entire skin surface of treated areas, CO2 laser resurfacing utilizes fractionated energy that creates microchannels in the skin. As columns of treated skin are removed, healthy, surrounding skin is left intact, which aids in the healing process and faster results. When the laser energy is absorbed by the deeper dermal layers, it is converted to heat, which stimulates the production of natural collagen and elastin to restore structure and flexibility to the skin over time. The dual wavelengths of the Cortex™ are able to target patient-specific conditions, making this an effective solution for a wide range of patients.

While CO2 laser resurfacing with the Cortex™ system may result in four to seven days of redness and flushing in treated areas, this is a good indicator that the healing process has begun, and most patients are able to return to work and normal activities quickly. Prior to your procedure, Dr. Plateroti and our medical team will ensure that this treatment is safe for your skin type and condition and create professional results that you can trust.

Although patients typically see visible improvements after the first session of CO2 laser resurfacing, it may take more than one session to achieve your aesthetic goals depending on the level of skin correction needed.

Contact Plateroti Dermatology today to schedule a consultation and find out if you are a candidate for CO2 laser resurfacing to reduce the appearance of aging and damaged skin
